HEAT
TREATMENTS IN
CONTROLLED
ATMOSPHERE

Heat treatments are carried out in a controlled atmosphere with nitrogen or argon injection, reaching saturation levels of 99.9%.

The treatment method we offer can be a valid alternative to vacuum heat treatments, especially for large-sized parts.

TREATMENTS PARTICULARLY SUITABLE FOR

  • Duplex steels
  • Titanium alloys
  • Aluminium alloys
  • Aerospace sector, where it is important that the piece does not undergo thickness reduction
  • Hastelloy
  • Special steels

MAIN TYPES OF TREATMENT

  • solution annealing heat treatments
  • solution annealing in controlled atmosphere
  • stress-relieving heat treatments in controlled atmosphere
  • annealing heat treatments in controlled atmosphere
  • normalizing heat treatments in controlled atmosphere

ADVANTAGES

Elimination of material oxidation even at high temperatures. The possibility of treating, in a non-invasive way, large pieces that cannot be treated in vacuum furnaces, also due to the excessive cost.

Our innovative method, in fact, allows high cost-effectiveness, thanks above all to the greater efficiency that our newly designed furnace is able to offer.

FEATURES OF THE NEWLY DESIGNED CONTROLLED-ATMOSPHERE FURNACE

  • Dimensions: Dn 2.55 x 1.10 m
  • Power supply: electric
  • Max temperature: 1200°C
  • Max capacity: 9000 kg
  • Temperature uniformity: ∓0.1 °C
  • Maximum cooling gradient: 3000°C/h in nitrogen

ALTERNATIVE APPLICATIONS

Our furnace can also be used, as an alternative, for brazing or braze-welding in an inert atmosphere, especially on titanium alloys.

Stress-relieving heat treatments are also carried out to relieve stress in products made from metal powders using 3D printers.
